Loving Your Kids and Letting Go

Check out a lovely article in the NCAdvertiser.com written by Julie Butler Evans entitled “Parenting from the trenches – Learning the life lesson of letting go.” Julie beautifully describes the dilemma that many parents face. She says that knowing when and how to draw the line between holding on to our kids and letting go is excruciatingly difficult for parents who have been trained to fix and nurture. We all grow out of failure of some kind and this cannot happen to our children unless we allow them to explore the world on their own.

This is a comforting article for parents everywhere, who cling to their children but know that they shouldn’t.
